The long-awaited trailer for Jared Leto‘s Sony Multiverse vampire flick is coming sooner than expected
Fans of the Spider-Man universe will be VERY familiar with the name Michael Morbius. First introduced in the classic Amazing Spider-Man comic series, Morbius has become one of Spidey’s more beloved and robust of villains. Despite his initial status as one of Spider-Man’s horror-based rogues, he went on to become a brooding and gritty antihero in his own popular series. With his horrific penchant for drinking human plasma, Morbius is the quintessential Marvel vampire and this year, his first solo big-screen outing is set to headline Sony Pictures’ ever-expanding multiverse.
Morbius The Living Vampire starring Jared Leto is all set to be unleashed upon the masses this summer and rumour has it the teaser trailer is expected to hit the wires sometime next week.
Here’s the official synopsis:
In Morbius, biochemist Michael Morbius tries to cure himself of a rare blood disease, but he inadvertently infects himself with a form of vampirism instead, finding himself both as a vampire and being chased by the authorities and his former ally.
As mentioned above, the movie stars Jared Leto as Dr. Michael Morbius along with Adria Arjona as Morbius’s fiancee Martine Bancroft, Jared Harris will portray Morbius’s mentor, Tyrese Gibson makes the shift from the Fast & Furious franchise to become Simon Stroud “an FBI agent trying to hunt down the living vampire,” and former Doctor Who star Matt Smith will serve as the film’s villain, Loxias Crown.
Daniel Espinosa is directing Morbius The Living Vampire from a screenplay written by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama. Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, and Lucas Foster will serve as producers, with Palak Patel overseeing the project for the Sony Pictures. Composer Jon Ekstrand is attached to compose the score for Morbius after doing the same for Espinosa’s previous films
Morbius is expected to be unleashed on July 31st, 2020.
