Star Trek: Lower Decks will return to Paramount+ this September and celebrates with a ‘Voyage Home’ inspired poster
Are you ready for more adventures aboard the U.S.S. Cerritos? Although the fourth season of Star Trek: Lower Decks has been rumored to be beaming down to Paramount+ for some time, the studio has been reluctant to confirm a release date. But thankfully, all that is about to change. We’ve received an exciting report from Deep Space Five, and it confirms an official release date for the new season!
The studio has dropped a suitably cool new poster for the upcoming fourth season that confirms that the new season will be hitting Paramount+ on September 7th. And the news just gets better for U.K. fans. The first three seasons of Lower Decks will be beaming down to Paramount+ UK on August 29th. After that date, the series will have a new home and will release exclusively on Paramount Plus in the U.K. and Ireland. And if that isn’t enough to have reaching for your Tricorder, the glorious poster pays homage to the iconic theatrical poster from Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.
THE VOYAGE HOME HOMAGE
In the movie, the crew, led by James T. Kirk traveled back in time to reclaim a pair of humpback whales to answer the call of an alien probe. Although the Lower Decks promotional team has always looked to past movies for inspiration, there is no evidence to suggest that the whale storyline will feature this season. But will more Trek lore feature in the new episodes? Only time will tell. Until then, feast your eyes on the glorious one-sheet below.

SYNOPSIS
In season four of STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS, an unknown force is destroying starships and threatening galactic peace. Luckily, the crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos isn’t important enough for stuff like that! Instead, Ensigns Mariner, Boimler, Tendi, Rutherford and Provisional Ensign T’Lyn are keeping up with their Starfleet duties, avoiding malevolent computers and getting stuck in a couple caves – all while encountering new and classic aliens along the way.
RELEASE
Although the second season of Strange New Worlds is already passing its halfway point, it is refreshing to hear that the next Trek series is already waiting in the wings. And with the Cerritos awaiting her departure orders, it has never been a better time to be a Star Trek fan. Will the upcoming season four of Star Trek: Lower Decks be able to live up to the humor and entertainment of its previous seasons? That remains to be seen. But we are 100% here for it!
