Samuel L. Jackson to bring Nick Fury to Disney Plus

Although there has been no official comment from Disney or the actor himself, Variety is reporting that Samuel L. Jackson has signed on the dotted line to reprise his role as S.H.I.E.L.D. head honcho Nick Fury in an as-yet-untitled Disney+/ Marvel Studios series. There are no details as yet regarding what direction the show will be following or exactly where it will fit into the Disney+/ Marvel Studios series of shows but it represents a fantastic coup to attain the services of the Oscar-nominated actor in a streaming series.

Jackson first played the part of the eye-patch wearing hero in a stinger at the very end of the original ‘Iron Man‘ film and has continued to play the character throughout the Marvel Universe, culminating in his appearance in ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home‘ last summer where it was revealed that Fury wasn’t on Earth after all but was residing onboard a Skrull ship out in space in a mid-credits stinger. Perhaps this is what the show will be following or building up to but we await further details.
