Stallone's 'Rocky IV' Director's Cut Titled 'Rocky Vs Drago'

Sylvester Stallone’s director’s cut of Rocky IV has been renamed Rocky vs Drago and is said to feature “HIP BREAKING SHOTS” aplenty!

Back in November, we were all waiting for the director’s cut of Sylvester Stallone‘s ‘Rocky IV.’ The writer/director/star was hard at work on bringing his own unique version of the film to the masses. And then…Nothing. It didn’t materialize. However, now we have news. In a recent Instagram video, the star is seen masked up and entering a building that is near-empty. It looks like it is located on Sunset Blvd.

Rocky IV

It is here where Stallone is still busy putting the finishing touches on his director’s cut. And it is also here that the film’s official title has been revealed. The film is no longer called ‘Rocky IV‘ but instead has the title of ‘Rocky Vs Drago‘. Stallone’s Instagram post revealed the title for the film:

“Now for some good news! We shot a full-length behind-the-scenes documentary While re-editing ROCKY 4, This is a little taste. When the film comes out it will be called. ROCKY VS DRAGO – The ultimate director’s cut. Enjoy and keep punching. #MGM”

Stallone also had some words of wisdom to impart with the audience:

“In my life, as you walk forward, the ground behind you disintegrates, so there is no retreat. When you go back and re-cut your film, I can guarantee that you’ll approach it with sensitivity, wisdom, and confidence. All of us are entitled to follow our dreams, to stick to our beliefs because, in the end, that’s all you have. If you keep believing in that, eventually, your dreams will come true,”

HIP BREAKING SHOT

The star also delivered the fans a pretty nasty photo of Dolph Lundgren’s Ivan Drago landing what Stallone labeled as a ‘hip breaking shot’ to Rocky Balboa. With the release of the photo, can we expect a more brutal fight than we have originally seen? The 1985 fight scenes were pretty full-on anyway. But could we be about to see some real bone-crunching action in Stallone’s cut? Stallone has already said that Balboa will deliver some ‘major payback’ during this new version of the film so anything is possible.
