Warner Bros urges us to return to the source on the new poster for The Matrix Resurrections
A new poster for The Matrix Resurrections has been downloaded and it reveals Neo (Keanu Reeves) and his unique new team. The team is clad in the customary black leather attire associated with the property; except for Morpheus. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is slipping into a colorful red and green suit to bring an alternate version of the character to life; as evidenced by the robust costume change. Which is polarizing when compared to the traditionally dark and stylized Neo and Trinity. Check it out below:
A NEW CHAPTER
Aside from what was teased in the special effects-laden trailer, Warner Bros is keeping most of the plot pretty close to the chest. And nobody can fault them for that. The idea of a fourth chapter in The Matrix saga is more than enough to get fans and cinephiles alike suitably excited. But many of us may opt to stay safe at home and check it out on HBO Max due to the ongoing threat of Covid. But given the scale and spectacle of the trailer, Resurrections may be the movie to drag even the most reserved, covid fearing movie fan back into an auditorium. To see it on the biggest screen possible! (For me that was Ghostbusters Afterlife. But to each his own!).
“In a world of two realities—everyday life and what lies behind it—Thomas Anderson will have to choose to follow the white rabbit once more. Choice, while an illusion, is still the only way in or out of the Matrix, which is stronger, more secure, and more dangerous than ever before.“
The Matrix Resurrections stars the returning Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss; Jada Pinkett Smith, Daniel Bernhardt, and Lambert Wilson. Newcomers to the franchise include Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick; Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris; Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Telma Hopkins; Eréndira Ibarra, Toby Onwumere, Max Riemelt, Brian J. Smith, and Christina Ricci.
The Matrix Resurrections urges us to return to source in cinemas and on HBO Max from December 22. 2021.
