Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 3 Beams Down To Prime Video This August
Open hailing frequencies because the third season of Star Trek: Lower Decks is beaming down to Prime Video on August 26th
Dust off the Tricorders and polish the warp nacelles because the third season of Star Trek: Lower Decks finally has a UK release date. After an arduous wait that would make a Tribble tense, Prime Video has announced that Mike McMahan’s brainchild will return to UK screens on August 26th. You heard right, we are just two weeks away from reuniting with the crew of the U.S.S Cerritos for another ten-episode season of Star Trek-themed mayhem! Following the premiere, the remaining nine episodes of the 10-episode long season will be available to stream weekly on Fridays.
Back in July, the studio dropped a suitably cool new poster for the upcoming third season that confirmed that the new season will be hitting the US branch of Paramount+ on August 25. Meaning fans in the UK will only have to endure a twenty-four wait for the latest episodes of the hit series!
THE SEARCH FOR BOIMLER?
What’s more, the aforementioned poster paid homage to the iconic theatrical poster from Star Trek III: The Search For Spock. In the movie, the main antagonists for James T. Kirk’s intrepid crew of the Enterprise were the Klingons; led famously by Christopher Llyod’s Commander Kruge. So, could the new poster hint at the Cerritos crossing paths with the Klingons in season 3? Only time will tell. Until then, feast your eyes on the glorious one-sheet below.
The Starfleet crew residing in the “lower decks” of the U.S.S. Cerritos includes Ensign Beckett Mariner, voiced by Tawny Newsome; Ensign Brad Boimler, voiced by Jack Quaid; Ensign Tendi, voiced by Noël Wells; and Ensign Rutherford, voiced by Eugene Cordero. The Starfleet characters that comprise the U.S.S. Cerritos’ bridge crew include Captain Carol Freeman, voiced by Dawnn Lewis; Commander Jack Ransom, voiced by Jerry O’Connell; and Doctor T’Ana, voiced by Gillian Vigman.
Created by Emmy Award winner Mike McMahan (Rick and Morty, Solar Opposites), season three of Star Trek: Lower Decks challenges the U.S.S. Cerritos ensigns in (hilarious) ways they could never imagine, starting with a shocking resolution for season two’s epic cliff hanger finale.
