“This week’s episode of Trigun Stampede is action-packed and brutal. Million Knives makes his big entrance and he means troubles with high stakes and consequences. It is the darkest episode yet.”

We are back for our Saturday appointment with Trigun Stampede!

TROUBLE IN TOWN

This episode picks up where we left off last week right after Nebraska’s son blows up. We go from one adversary to another. But this one is one step higher. Indeed, that is E.G. Mine, a criminal who enjoys blowing up people. He is more menacing than in the first series. So, there is no rest for Vash the Stampede. He goes from facing one enemy to the other. It is an action-packed episode.

Just like the Nebraska family, E.G. Mine’s goal is to steal the reactors from Jeneora Rock. But do not worry, even if this sounds repetitive, it is not. E.G. Mine brings something different enough from Nebraska. On top of that, the story in this episode has much more to offer.

THE REAL THREAT

E.G. Mine is actually nothing compared to what comes next in this episode. After some ominous scenes in the first two episodes, Million Knives makes his big entrance in this week’s episode. This is no laughing matter. Indeed, the series makes it clear he is the main villain and that he means danger. He doesn’t hold back. In fact, this is quite brutal. There is a lot of blood. Death is on his path. I have to say this is a perfect entrance for a big bad. The stakes are immediately raised. Plus, there are heavy consequences to his coming. In addition, the visuals are up to the task for such an entrance. I am in awe at how impressive this CG series looks.

If the first two episodes were an introduction to Vash and his friends, this one is an introduction to the real threat of this story. The tone changes completely. It gets incredibly dark and creepy. This begs the question what can Vash do against his brother? It is going to be a difficult task to stop him. It will not just be a physical battle but a battle of the mind. Million Knives’ actions in this episode have left a mark on Vash. I find it so compelling that this series is able to give us fun episodes while also being able to make episodes like this one. They have found the right balance.

VERDICT

This week’s episode of Trigun Stampede is action-packed and brutal. Million Knives makes his big entrance and he means troubles with high stakes and consequences. It is the darkest episode yet.

Trigun Stampede is now streaming on Crunchyroll and Hulu.
