Just days after unleashing the Batwoman teaser upon the world, the CW has stuck again and delivered the full-length trailer which reveals Ruby Rose‘s crimson caped crusader in all her glory. Rumours had previously surfaced suggesting the series will be set before the events of the EPIC “Elseworlds” crossover event where the mysterious Batwoman crossed paths with the Green Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl. And thanks to this new trailer, we have that rumour confirmed at last.
With the dark knight AWOL from his duties and Gotham in desperate need of a hero, Kate Kane (Rose), takes it upon herself to fill the void and slips into the famous cape and cowl. Check out the full trailer below:
Synopsis:
Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane (Rose) soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a saviour, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.
Serving as showrunner for Batwoman will be Caroline Dries (The Vampire Diaries), with Greg Berlanti acting as executive producer of the series. Berlanti has been the driving force behind Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow since their inception and is poised to continue to strengthen his portfolio with Batwoman.
Batwoman is expected to maker her CW debut later this year.
