Pattinson’s Dark Knight is finally revealed…
With production now well underway on Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman‘ all eyes are on Warner Bros. for the studio to reveal our first look at Robert Pattinson’s Batsuit. After months of speculation hinting that the movie would feature a Dark Knight at the beginning of his journey, Matt Reeves has taken to social media to reveal a camera test video which finally reveals all.
In the video, Pattinson’s Dark Knight emerges from the shadows and reveals our first look at the torso of his iconic Batsuit complete with a metallic bat symbol, as well as the famous cowl. Check it out:
Okay, I’m pumped. What’s more, the test video also features a sample of Michael Giacchino’s hotly-anticipated soundtrack for the movie which also adds to the intrigue. If this sampler is an excerpt from the physical score, I will be delighted. The slow, dark and methodical build is perfect Batman material and the thought of watching Pattinson swinging between skyscrapers accompanied by this theme is a tantalising prospect.
What this test footage fails to reveal, however, is the length of the ears, but I’m sure that will be revealed in the coming months. What’s more, sources close to production claim ‘The Batman‘ will feature our beloved Dark Knight during his second year as Gotham’s caped crusader.
Alongside Robert Pattinson who will be swinging into action as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Matt Reeves has cast Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Andy Serkis as Bruce Wayne’s faithful butler Alfred Pennyworth, John Turturro as Gotham City crimelord Carmine Falcone and recently, Colin Farrell was confirmed to be joining the cast as Oswald Cobblepot aka The Penguin. In addition to his fabulous cast list for The Batman, Reeves has also appointed another long-time collaborator in Michael Giacchino to compose the score for the movie.
Exciting times ahead for Batman fans everywhere.
The Batman will be defending Gotham in multiplexes from June 25, 2021.
