The long-awaited sequel will fly into London on May 19th. Do you feel the need…the need for speed?

It seems that Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell has an appearance by royal command to attend. It has been confirmed that the upcoming sequel ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ will be attended by members of the British royal family. The UK premiere of the long-awaited film will be held in London on May 19th. It will become the 72nd Royal Film Performance hosted by The Film And TV Charity in its nearly 100-year history. The non-profit charity is an organization that supports the tens of thousands of workers working behind the scenes in the UK film and TV industry. It is a flagship fundraiser, which has been in partnership with Paramount Pictures for a long time.

The producer of the new sequel, Jerry Bruckheimer spoke of his pride at the news:

“I am delighted that the UK premiere of TOP GUN: MAVERICK will take place in aid of The Film And TV charity. After 36 years, we are thrilled to bring Captain Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell back to the big screen with the help of an incredible cast and truly talented crew. We know audiences around the world are going to love returning to the skies in this long-awaited return. And we are thrilled to be able to support such an amazing charity that continues to aid and support the UK film industry.”

THE PREMISE

After more than thirty years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him. When he finds himself training a detachment of Top Gun graduates for a specialized mission the likes of which no living pilot has ever seen, Maverick encounters Lt. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), call sign: “Rooster,” the son of Maverick’s late friend and Radar Intercept Officer Lt. Nick Bradshaw, aka “Goose”.

Top Gun: Maverick also stars Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Charles Parnell, Bashir Salahuddin, Monica Barbaro, Jay Ellis, Danny Ramirez, Greg Tarzan Davis with Ed Harris.

TICKET NEWS

The tickets for The Royal Film Premiere of the film, and the UK premiere screening will go on sale from April 19th. They will be available to buy via http://www.filmtvcharity.org.uk. These tickets are bound to sell out fast, so it may be an idea to be ready to jump onto the site as soon as you can to secure your seats. Tickets for The Royal Charity Premiere are not going to be cheap, however. And the price of a ticket to the UK Premiere screening may be slightly higher than normal. But both screenings are bound to be full to the brim of surprises and fun. And if you’ve ever wanted to attend a big movie premiere, there has never been a better chance.
